We believe the one God exists as three persons: Father,Son and Holy Spirit. (Deut. 6:4-5; John 14:6-27)
We believe God has mightily and graciously acted in the
life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, His Son, to
save men from sin.(John 3:16; 1 Cor. 15:1-10; Heb. 9:22)
We believe men are sinful and fallen creatures by nature,
and need to be forgiven, renewed and cleansed by God. (Gen.
3; Heb. 9:22; Rom. 3:21-26)
We believe the possibilities of grace include both a complete
pardoning of sin and a thorough cleansing, entire sanctification,
which makes a holy and victorious daily life possible. (Matt.
5:43-48; 22:37-40; Rom. 8; 12:1-2; 1 Thess. 5:23-24)
We believe our salvation is by the merits and power of God's
grace alone, received by us through faith in Jesus Christ.
(Rom. 5:1-8; Eph. 2:8-10)
We believe Jesus Christ is coming again, that all men will
be judged, that the redeemed will live eternal blessedness
in heaven, and that all who reject salvation through Christ
will be judged by God. (Matt. 25:31-46; 2 Thess. 1:5-10)
We believe in thought, speech and action, the Christian
should be guided by the Spirit of God. (Rom. 8; Gal. 5:2;
1 Thess. 4:7-8)
We believe these doctrines are based solidly upon the teaching
of Holy Scripture, which is the written Word of God and the
authority for Christian faith and life. (Ps. 119; 2 Tim. 3:16-17;
2 Pet. 1:20-21)
The Church of the Nazarene
The doctrine that distinguishes the Church of the Nazarene
and other Wesleyan denominations from most other Christian
denominations is that of entire sanctification. Nazarenes
believe God calls Christians to a life of holy living that
is marked by an act of God, cleansing the heart from original
sin and filling the individual with love for God and humankind.
This experience is marked by entire consecration of the believer
to do God's will and is followed by a life of service to God
and others. Like salvation, entire sanctification is an act
of God's grace, not of works. Our service to God is an act
of love where we show our appreciation for the grace extended
to us through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

the Nazarene, view the official Articles of Faith here.
